The pastry is a short, buttery shortcrust that shatters at the first bite, and the filling is still the one we started with: skirt beef, potato, swede and onion seasoned plenty and slow-cooked to the last corner. Bake them from chilled in 20 minutes, or keep them in the freezer and bake straight from frozen in 40 — they come out of the oven exactly as they would in the bakery. Every order goes out in a sturdy kraft box with instructions on the inside of the lid, so you can pass it straight on as a gift.
